Impact: 25 school districts, 5 career & technology
An infrastructure of high-quality, high speed regional WAN connecting school districts and vocational-technical schools and Intermediate Unit One to each other for Internet, Internet2, and other educational and administrative applications is now in place as a result of a $1.84 M grant awarded to IU1 in 2005. A portion of this grant supports training for teachers in a number of applications designed to integrate technology with classroom instruction. The grant also helps school districts purchase technology more affordably and benefits schools encouraging innovative regional applications of technology.
