IU1 Center for STEM Education and the University of Pittsburgh are offering to train 12 High School Biology and Environment & Ecology teachers from IU1 school districts for FREE. You would participate in a 7-day session at the Pymatuning Laboratory of Ecology in Linesville, PA in the EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN workshop. The workshop will introduce the fundamentals of experimental design and data analysis. Room and board is provided; you provide the transportation to the site. Applicants will be notified by May 15th if they are accepted.

Once you are trained, you will have access to the Pitt-Kits loaner program which will provide all the equipment and supplies needed to run the experiments in the classroom.

Applicants must be currently teaching at the high school or junior high level to qualify.

Participating teachers receive: Act 48 hours and a $500 stipend, which could be applied to the cost of 1 Graduate Credit.
